While the 2016 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) finals are still under way between Liaoning Flying Leopards and Sichuan Whale, Zhou Qi, a player of Xinjiang Flying Tigers and one of the best of basketball prospects in China, has started his US tour in Dallas with his broker Leng Gang.
It once again triggers the speculation that Zhou is likely to take part in the upcoming NBA draft in the summer. Speaking about Zhou’s plan in the US, his broker said Zhou traveled to the US majorly for recovery and physical reserves. But various sources pointed out Zhou will be exposed to NBA scouts, officials and even sports reporters during his stay in the US. More importantly, they noted Zhou himself has decided to play in the NBA draft in June. Could Zhou grow into next Yao Ming in the future? Or will he take part in the draft this summer?
According to the Guangzhou Daily, Yao Ming, the retired Chinese professional basketball player, has set up a new company, the “China Professional League Basketball Club (Beijing) Ltd” (Chinese: 中职联篮球俱乐部(北京)股份有限公司), with RMB 45 million registered capital. The company, officially founded on February 14th, is located in Shijingshan District, Beijing.

Regardless of the weather, however, the China Basketball Association (CBA) really draws some buzz whether on TV or on a variety of media channels. Ambitious owners of 18 of the basketball’s league’s twenty clubs, led by former NBA star Yao Ming, currently in charge of Shanghai Sharks, agreed to set up a joint venture in Beijing, seeking wide-ranging commercial rights to manage China’s top-tier basketball league.
